We’ve helped hundreds of ordinary people just like you become successful franchise owners. Here are the answers to some of our most frequently-asked questions:Can I work with my spouse/partner?
Yes, some of most successful business operators have been husband and wife teams. You can also work with friends and even employ older children or other relatives if you choose.
Can we invest in a second franchise?
Yes - once you’ve proven that you can manage your business successfully, you have the option of buying another franchise.
Does the franchise give me exclusivity over my own territory?
Yes - you will be the only James’ Home Services cleaning franchise in your territory.
Do I get help with the book work?
Yes. We understand that accounts and paperwork can be very frightening to new businesspeople. Our training covers everything you need to know, including areas such as GST and budgeting. You’ll be trained initially by your business coach and then given support as you need it.
Do I have to do ALL the services?
No. Although James’ Home Services offers franchises in areas such as lawn and garden care and car detailing in addition to house cleaning, we’ll help you decide which type of franchise would suit you best and train you to be professionals in that service area. You’ll be faster, better and busier by focusing in the field that suits you.
How does James’ support its franchisees?
We provide extensive ongoing training and support including:

How much can I earn?
Franchisees can earn from $500 to $2000 a week by following the James’ Home Services system.
Is James’ Home Services a national company, and how long has it been in operation?
Yes, we have franchisees all over Australia and New Zealand and our company has been in operation for fifteen years (since 1993).
What about marketing and advertising?
We undertake extensive marketing and advertising campaigns, creating effective consumer-oriented marketing strategies incorporating TV, radio, brochures, Yellow Pages, the Internet, shopping centre promotions, charity events, markets & fetes and merchandising, all of which reinforce our trusted brand’s reputation for professional and friendly service.
What cleaning products and equipment do I need?
Everything you need to start is included in your own trailer as part of the purchase of your franchise. All of our high-quality cleaning products are tried and tested, and you save by buying in-house as you require more.
What if I want to sell my franchise?
There’s no limit placed on the resale price of a franchise. Successful businesses have sold for up to $75,000.
What initial training do I receive?
As part of our system, each franchisee receives ongoing individual business and personal coaching and assistance in areas such as accounting, dealing with GST, business communication, handling customer complaints, motivation, and advertising.
Other ongoing training and support also includes our regular newsletter, monthly franchisee meetings, ongoing training sessions, guest speakers, and an annual awards night, at which we recognise franchisees’ achievements for the year. We train you in all the practical skills you’ll need. Perhaps even more importantly, we give you the skills to become not just a “cleaning expert” but a successful business person.
What makes a successful franchisee?
A willingness to learn is vital, and this combined with the discipline to stick to a proven system will bring you success.
What’s the difference between a Service Franchisee and a Master Franchisee?
A Service Franchisee has a hands-on, practical service role, dealing directly with clients. A Master Franchisee has a management or leadership role, rather than one of “hands-on” service. They own the rights to develop their own franchise network by selling Service Franchises in their area. In order to be successful as a Master Franchisee, we recommend you have suitable business and/or management experience.
What if I’m having problems?
James’ Home Services is built on the belief that our business is about people rather than products. Our system is designed and managed to make communication easy and effective. Each situation is handled individually, and if a Franchisee’s circumstances change, due to issues such as divorce or health problems, our structure and philosophy encourages all parties to come to a mutually agreeable arrangement. By encouraging close working relationships we aim to avoid disputes before they arise wherever possible.
